Conceptual Dance Program Overview: 

The conceptual curriculum for our beginner students centers on a developmentally appropriate syllabus of dance techniques and creative movement. This syllabus offers a very structured program for young children. Our Beginning Years Program aims to prepare students with foundational dance skills and conceptual knowledge that will prepare them for our future programs. Similarly, we value the importance of fostering social skills and peer engagement. The program offers growth in various skill areas presented in an educational environment. Students will learn about classroom etiquette, musical awareness, expressing emotions through movement, and more.

The conceptual curriculum for our Combination Years Program centers on a developmentally appropriate syllabus of dance techniques that continues our Beginning Years Program. One goal of the Combination Years Program is to prepare students with foundations in Ballet, Jazz, and Tap while fostering social skills and peer engagement. Furthermore, the program covers various skills, such as choreographic design, technical awareness, and injury prevention, presented in an educational environment. Students will also learn about classroom etiquette, musical awareness, expressing emotions through movement, improvisation, leadership skills, and more.

Illusions Performance Company/ Enrichment Program

The Illusions Performance Company is a separate enrichment program for dancers who choose to further their dance education. The enrichment program requires a higher level of commitment. Members are exposed to a comprehensive curriculum of dance genres to foster well-rounded dancers as part of the enrichment program requirements. Exposure to various dance genres, teachers, performances, competitions, and experiences enables the development of well-rounded dancers. Illusions Company dancers represent Illusions Academy of Dance, Inc. by performing at events throughout the community regionally and nationally. The Company has also traveled to Disney World to perform several times and has participated in multiple master classes and conventions. Dancers of the Illusions Performance Company enrichment program apply 21st-century skills learned through dance in all areas of their lives. Our Company enrichment program fosters dancers' growth inside and outside the dance studio. The lessons and life skills learned through the program will be used throughout all Company dancers' lives.
